You have GIST, now what?
When I got the phone call that confirmed my cancer diagnosis, my world turned upside down.
I was lost and didn’t know what to do.
The GIST of Life started as a place to pour out my cancer feelings, but I also wanted a place I could connect with others. I wanted to be able to talk to someone that got it; as much talking as I did to my loved ones, nobody was in the position I was in, and that scared me.
The line I repeated over and over to Tony was, “I would have loved finding a blog or website that had a story like mine.” So, here we are.
Even though my treatment journey has ended, (for now, and hopefully forever), I’m in the next stage of this process, which is almost just as scary – how do you live each and every day without being terrified cancer will return?
This page is going to provide resources, outlets, ways to connect to those that are in need. I’m new to this aspect of writing, so hang with me while we figure it out together.
