the in-between

It is day 4 of my 31 day challenge of trying something new everyday. i will continue to say – January is off to a good start because of this challenge. Today I decided to work in the office. This is something new for me. I usually drag all my materials and spread out on…

day 2- hanging with a baby

the in-between

Day two of my 31 day challenge of trying something new did not fall short of another terrific experience. Today I tried something new. Today’s something new was original, and not something I thought would be included in my challenge. Today, I hung out with my favorite little baby girl, all. day. long. It was…

2014’s favorite things

the in-between

I’m going to start my very own challenge for the month of January. Challenges are constantly blinding me on other blogs I read; I try to figure out which ones I could apply to my own life, but it’s tough. So instead, I am going to create my own challenge. It is going to be…

a new resolution

the in-between

2014, you terrific little gal; you taught me many lessons, gave me many memories, & walked out of my life as quickly as you walked in. You taught me how to cope with grief. You showed me that I really can do projects myself. You gave me strength and courage to let go of things…

Mark Twain. He’s always an oldie, but goodie, [it is obvious I teach Language Arts]. Jingle bells are stowed. Mistletoe is taken down.  Wonderland yard figurines are placed in the back corner of the garage. The twinkling lights that line roof tops may remain to ring in the new year on Wednesday night. This weekend was filled with a blank calendar, cookie making, & birthday celebrations. Tony and I decided this past weekend was going to be “Tony & Kaylee” weekend. We were going to stay in and make cookies on Friday night, clean our house Saturday, and host a double birthday celebration for my mom and sister…

teaching tip tuesday: keep your students discussing

the in-between

Today was one of those days. No, my students weren’t bouncing off the walls in anticipation of winter break; they were completely silent. I hate it when this happens. I hate being the awkward voice in the room, pulling teeth for a raised hand. I haven’t been teaching long enough to feel completely comfortable with…

on tuesdays, i give teaching tips

the in-between

I want to start something new on Tuesdays. My profession as a teacher isn’t just a job for me; it is one of my passions. I think of myself as extremely lucky. When I get to work in the morning, I am so happy. Yes, there are mornings where I need some caffeine before I…

a week in the life..

the in-between

Where has the time gone? Thanksgiving has come and gone & now Christmas is quickly approaching. Between holiday parties, a couple family birthdays, and all other events to celebrate, 2015 is going to knocking on our door shortly. A week in the life is needed during the month December. Things move too fast. So here…

a day in the life

the in-between

A typical day consists of multiple activities. Today, for example, a wonderful Sunday, is no exception. Today was one of the first days that I had absolutely NO PLANS. Since mid-July there has been an event on the calendar every weekend; from weddings, engagement parties, showers – baby & wedding – reunions, family birthdays, etc……
