Day two of my 31 day challenge of trying something new did not fall short of another terrific experience.
Today I tried something new. Today’s something new was original, and not something I thought would be included in my challenge. Today, I hung out with my favorite little baby girl, all. day. long.
It was great 🙂
My dear good friends had a baby in June. When we went to visit them in the hospital, everyone was in awe at the beauty their child radiated. She was perfect. Big beautiful eyes, rosebud lips, and the daintiest, curly little eyelashes. She looked like she should be on the covers of magazines.
My friends, (the beauty’s parents), have showed me the meaning of love in completely new ways the past 6.5 months. Watching them grow as parents, take pride in her daily achievements, and listen to them speak of her, in general, has been inspiring. They are amazing parents and I am so glad I get to be apart of their daughter’s life, as well as theirs.
Today, day care was closed, dad was going to out of town, and mom had to work. I told them I would love to hang out with their little one. And hang out did we ever.
We played, danced, sang, napped, had a couple apps and drinks, (mashed sweet potatoes and a bottle or two of milk), and watched frozen. She was the best day date I’ve ever had. There were a couple times she tested my patience, (poor little thing may be getting another tooth. It is said if we were to teeth as adults we couldn’t handle the pain), but was calmed by taking a couple strolls throughout the house, chatting about various gossip topics.
Again, something I didn’t think would be on my “something new” list of 2015, but I’m so glad it was. It showed me a glimpse of what having a baby around the house may look like, (we definitely have some work to do with Ace!), and it made me also appreciate what parents do every day for their littles.
