Yesterday marked five years of marriage for Tony & I.
We’ve been dealt cards I never thought we’d see.
We’ve held each other up & made one another laugh.
We’ve flown to beaches & we’ve journeyed to the mountains.
We’ve sang at concerts & got stuck in the rain.
We’ve cried on staircases & ate popcorn at doctor’s appointments.
We’ve planted peonies & we’ve grown vegetables.
We’ve argued; we’ve shouted; & we’ve apologized.
We’ve raised a prince & we’ve been greeted with a wigglebutt.
We’ve cruised with the sunset & we’ve felt the wind on our skin.
We’ve built a fence & we’ve made our house a home.
We’ve lost loved ones & we’ve held hands on walks.
We’ve done Sunday Funday to it’s finest & we’ve played hooky.
We’ve surprised one another & we’ve finished each others thoughts.
We’ve raced against a vizsla & ran in the woods.
We’ve started as kids & we’ve matured into adults.
We’ve experienced loss, pain, joy & love.
We’ve got a lifetime ahead.
& I can’t wait.
