I’m relaxing on another Sunday, after another phenomenal wedding celebration.
My best friend Natalie married the man of her dreams on Saturday night & it was definitely something to celebrate. This woman has been such an important part of my life. She is the kindest, most giving person I know. She always goes above and beyond for the relationships in her life & makes your friendship feel so special and a priority. [Words directly from my speech last night; I’m extremely thankful THAT part of being a Maid of Honor is over, man was I nervous!]
I had a whirlwind of week for MEA break: conferences two nights until 8, nails with the bridesmaids, a wonderful grooms’ dinner, & then topping it all off with the most beautiful wedding, [seriously, the most beautiful place, decor, and bride I had ever seen]. It was a weekend for the books and I’m so glad my girl is now a happily, married woman.
As I look over these pictures again today, a huge smile comes across my face. I can’t put into words how happy I am for my beautiful friend. I’m happy she found her happy ever after.
Today has been a day I should be cleaning, meal planning and grocery shopping, and preparing for school after the long break, but I’m not doing anything of those things. Instead, I’m admiring the left over bouquets I got to bring home:
and snuggling with Ace, while we watch football with Tony. Weddings always make me a sap and remember my own beach vows. They remind me how how I felt on my own big day, how excited I was to call Tony my husband. They remind me how lucky I am to have him in my life; how right now, on this Sunday, it’s just the two of us. Just the two of to share our love with one another and our sleepy puppy. The biggest decision the two of us have tonight is where to order our pizza & when we’re going to finish watching the season finale of Boardwalk Empire.
Weddings remind me of what life is all about – having your person
-to laugh with, to love, & everything else in between.
Happy Sunday, dolls.
