I hope your Sunday afternoon finds you well! I know mine does; I’m currently sitting out on the patio, enjoying a nice 75 degree day. Yes, I said that correctly: 75 degrees in October. It’s amazing.
This weekend brought some great times; a birthday celebration for Tony’s brother, a bachelorette party for a dear friend, & today’s summer-like day. Another great weekend for the books. However, it was Friday’s afternoon that put a smile on my face for the rest of the weekend.
After joining some fellow teacher colleagues at the local bar after school to celebrate getting through the first month of school, I got home, got the mail, walked in the kitchen, and started straightening up, like I normally do. I usually put dishes away from the night before, wipe down counter tops, yadda, yadda, yadda. As I walked by the refrigerator, I noticed something new:
I definitely knew who stuck it up there, but I am not sure when he did it or why he did; either way, it made me smile.
Everybody needs reminders once and while. For the two of us, and our uncertain future, this is perfect & Tony is a genius for putting in a spot we will see it everyday. It applies to everything; life habits, our careers, babies, etc… After coming off of a week of frustration & negativity, [STILL battling a cough and a stuffy nose], it was exactly what I needed to see & think about.
I know we need to keep on, keepin’ on. But every once a while, it’s nice to be reminded.
I’m getting close to getting this sickness under wraps. I can finally see a finish line, all I need are a couple more good sleeps & to keep feeding my face with spinach. I added a new green smoothie recipe to my greens page; applerazz. Check it out – it’s a tasty one!
Here’s to a week of conferences, nails, Minnesota Education break [which means no school on Thursday or Friday!], a groom’s dinner & Natalie’s wedding!
Peace out monkeys. xo
