It’s been over two weeks since my last post – betcha you thought you got rid of me, huh?
The past couple weeks showed me a dandy or two, but the most important thing I realized is that I HAVE to write. My wrist is a-twitchin’ and I could not wait to get back into the swing of things. It feels good to have my keyboard in front of me, a Bon Iver song playin’, & the sun on my face.
I’m not one for wanting to recap & give a play by play of my life. Sometimes I get caught up summarizing events of the weekend, but the intent of this blog is NOT to give you a step by step look at what I’ve been up to or what has kept me busy. The intent is for me to be able to just write; to get it out, [whatever IT may be], & try to be a little creative in the process.
However…
I’ll will catch you up on why I have been MIA lately.
End of the School Year:
Yep, that’s right, I’m officially on summer break. My last day with students was Wednesday, May 20th, my colleagues and I moved an entire building of furniture out to two huge sheds on May 21st, celebrated with a district breakfast on May 22nd, & I was home free ๐ I’m not going to lie – I forgot how great it is to get a little break. I spent this morning putting together a ginormous project list, all of which I would like to complete within the next two months, as well as a cleaning/organizing list, [I don’t think I’ve EVER actually cleaned my baseboards – besides a quick vacuum. Like, ever. Gross].
A Wedding in Mexico:
Tony’s brother got married & I get another sister!ย We headed off to Mexico on the 23rd and didn’t look back. The weather was gorgeous & the bride and groom were stunning! It was a week of relaxation & sun that we all needed. I didn’t take a bunch of pictures of the wedding and I’m kicking myself about it now. At the time, I just wanted to enjoy the moment & have some fun! I managed a couple of candids of the happy couple & the bride putting on her dress with her mom and sister ๐
Also, I did go through about 8 bottles of 30 spf & still look as white as ever. Ya win some, ya loose some, right? I don’t think I’m made to bronze.
That brings us to today:
My current view-
& I’m okay with it ๐
I have a couple new ideas up my sleeve for the summer- stay tuned – I will also be making a trek back down to Mayo to meet with Reproductive Endocrinology, probably within the next couple months. I’m hoping this visit sheds some light on the decisions we need to make this year; fingers crossed the appointment will make things easier, not more difficult. This weekend we had a graduation party for one of my cousins & I was talking with my grandma about how the last appointment went. As I was explaining some of our options to her, I found myself saying, “I know there will be a moment where our decision will be crystal clear, we’ll know exactly what we’re supposed to do, & until then, I don’t intend on stressing out about it.”
First off – who the hell am I?
Secondly – What?
I guess, here I am, finally figuring things out.. & I didn’t even realize it!
Happy June 1st, friends. Here’s to a terrific summer!!
