Every new school year brings a breath of fresh air.
It’s a time for me to refocus, regroup, and as the title says: start fresh.
I needed this new school year more than I can ever express in words. I’m currently waiting out some results that possibly link back to my latest loss [yes, the one back in July; the emotional turmoil loves us, I guess], and the first day of school could not have knocked at my door at a better time.
This morning I showed up at school from a sleepless night, [ALWAYS the night before school starts, my brain doesn’t shut off!], a little nervous and anxious, but so excited to greet my new students and the new school year.
& the best part was, today did not disappoint.
My students were engaged.
They were excited.
The positive energy was overflowing from my classroom.
It was just what I needed.
My heart felt full, my brain was busy, and I loved being back in some of my old routines.

Regardless of profession, I always think this time of year brings a swirl of change.
Maybe it’s what been ingrained in us since we were young; fall was always the start of a new school year and new beginnings for years and years of our lives. I can feel it around others, autumn always brings a bit of excitement in what shift is to come. I can’t help but think it’s a bit contagious. Either way, it brings a little crisp scent to the air, a change from the heavy humidity, & I’m all here for it.

So here’s to continuing to put one foot in front of the other, bringing enthusiasm to my classroom, making time to snuggle with Ace every day, and putting together more delicious recipes.
xo,

What a great attitude to start a brand new school year! Life is full of surprises and some not so pleasant, but God gives the courage. And the faith to handle each day, May that happen to you too. Have a wonderful year and may it be filled withhappiness in whatever form that comes. Love you Kaylee so much
