“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.”
– Margaret Atwood
As I was scrolling mindlessly through social media/articles/whatever else wastes time, I came across this quote.
The truth behind the words resonated with me tremendously.
“…. if you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it… “
“… water is patient.”
“… and nothing in the end can stand against it.”
Too many times I’ve came across a problem I could not solve and wanted to give up.
Too many times I’ve been frustrated with how long I have to wait for something I really want.
There have been too many times I have felt defeated and did not have confidence in myself.
& I know I’m not alone.
But take this moment with me to realize we are half water. We are patient, we flow, we are determined, and we can do anything.
I needed this today.
& I’ll probably need it again tomorrow or other days to come.
But today, I am reminded that I can do anything.
