Whew – I can’t believe Thanksgiving will be upon us in a couple weeks. I feel like I’ve blinked & 1/3 of the school year will be over.
There are a lot of life happenings to catch up on; I’ll do my best to keep it short & sweet.
HEALTH
A couple weeks ago I had a lab appointment. Good news: my absolute neutrophils have inched up a bit from my visit to Mayo. Not-so-good news: my hemoglobin is now down. The fix? To continue to drink plenty of fluids & eat spinach like Pop-eye. I continue to go to sleep early, [& I’m called a grandma by Tony, frequently], and I’ve been trying to stay out in front of whatever may try to slow me down, next. It gets exhausting to constantly think two-three steps ahead, but such is life.
ACE
Ace had been doing great on his medication for his epilepsy diagnosis. We were happy we still had our little spunky, diva, red-head, & that the pills didn’t change his disposition too much. But last Thursday, he had another seizure in the middle of the night & had another one before we went to bed. Two in 24 hours isn’t great. It also isn’t great that he had both these seizures while on his medication.
Blood work came back normal, [good, but also bittersweet], and we were told to double his medication. I guess this is all a part of the process of epilepsy in dogs, finding the right amount of medication; an amount that will do it’s job, but keeps our pup as normal as possible.
Ace is still our little diva, only a little sleepier, a little calmer.
MRS. DOHERTY
Simply put: the school year is flying by & I still LOVE 5th grade.
OTHER LIFE HAPPENINGS
I’m just about done with my project in our lower bathroom, [the shiplap add was an excellent idea! I’ll post some before/after pictures soon], and I’m ready to take on our laundry room & tiling our entry way. It’ll be two bigger projects, but it’s time both are done. We’ve been putting them off for way too long.
I’m heading back to New York in the beginning of December & I couldn’t be more excited! I can’t wait to see the tree lit up, skate at Rockefeller Center, & eat cozy dinners with my best girlfriends. Tony tells me I can’t come home with another tattoo, but what does he know? 😉
Speaking of Tony, we’re in the middle of planning a long weekend away at the end of December for New Year’s. He may have some options in the works through his job, & it may be somewhere tropical [silent cheer!!], so our plans are paused until we know a for sure outcome on that possibility. However, I found a great travel agency called Pack Up + Go, who plans a secret three day weekend for you and fellow travelers, all based on your budget, and your favorite things to do on vacation.
If our tropical vacation through Tony’s job travels doesn’t work out, then this is definitely something we’re going to try out. I think it’d be exciting, adventurous, and everything the two of us need in this moment of time.
LOOKING FORWARD
There are some goals I have started the past couple months & I want to stick to them. What better way of holding myself accountable then putting them out there on my blog?
- Stay positive, always
- Continue to work out 3-4 times a week
- Get those greens!
- Blog more often 🙂
- Keep friendships strong
Welp, off I go to put on my Ricky Rubio jersey for a Timberwolves game with my man, my dad, and my uncle.
Be well, my darlings xo
