Day two of spring break, and it’s shaping up to be just as wonderful as day one.
Today, I started the day out by doing a little grading & watching Sex and the City reruns, don’t worry, Ace is cuddled up with a blanket at my side. I think he’s soaking up these days at home with me as much as I am. Yesterday’s blog post distracted me from all the amazing things about my Easter holiday on Sunday.
This year, I hosted Easter for my family and Tony’s family. It’s been a tradition that I have wanted to start for the past couple years. I always told Tony, “If we ever get asked to host a holiday, please let it be Easter. We could do a wonderful brunch, with mimosas [duh], and we have the best backyard to hide eggs for our kids and future nieces and nephews.” Tony always approved of my ideas and usually agreed that it would be a fun holiday to host. The only problem being, I didn’t want to wait until we have kids to start this tradition, I love to host, and I wanted to start it now.
I’m really lucky it worked out as well as it did for everybody. We were joined by my parents and my sister, Alissa and her boyfriend, Ben, and Tony’s parents. We missed my sister, Justine – she stayed in Iowa for the weekend, she was just home for a week for spring break, and Tony’s brother and my sister-in-law didn’t make it for brunch, but they made it later in the afternoon to visit. It was as close to perfect as we could get it!
Excuse my obsession with my table settings, you have to cut me some slack, I was pretty pumped to host an actual holiday!
I can’t wait until next Easter!
Off to go on my second walk with Ace; it’s beautiful out!
Toodles, jellybeans! xo
