Mimosas.
They are my favorite.
I’m not a big drinker, but when someone pours a mimosa on a Saturday or Sunday morning, I will gladly accept seconds, thirds, even fourths. Mimosas coat my anxiousness with a bubbly, happiness that I quite enjoy. I would pick a good brunch with a handful mimosas over staying out late at a bar any time. It is definitely my jam. So it seemed perfect to enjoy a couple with Tony on this Valentine’s Day morning.
Don’t worry, Ace was also a part of our Valentine’s Day brunch.
I’m not one to get into Valentine’s Day. I guess, I believe in showing love when you feel it, when it overwhelms you with passion, when you’re giddy with excitement, not on a day when advertising instructs you to buy candy hearts and flowers. However, I do understand the fun in the holiday, as well. In school on Friday, I received many sweet treats from my students, and it put a big, ol’ smile on my face.
Anyways, back to mimosas…
Mimosas always remind me of my college girlfriends. We brunch really well together and there are usually many mimosas had. We discuss topics which make some of us blush, we cry together over lost loved ones, or reminisce on the memories from college. Mimosas add a little color, a little sparkle, & bring us together.
Some of my girlfriends got together this past weekend & we couldn’t make it, so I’m making it my goal to plan as many outings in 2016 as possible. Life is only going to get busier, so I figured the more events in the mix, the better chance of all of us seeing one another more often.
We’ve had another busy weekend celebrating birthdays. Friday night we toasted to my wonderful father and tonight we are celebrating Tony and my sister-in-law at Tony’s parents.
So, I guess, overall, it was definitely a weekend filled with love!
I’m off to do a little lesson planning, [even though there’s NO SCHOOL tomorrow!], and post some pinterest inspiration for my office and dining room 🙂
Toodles, sweethearts
