This weekend was all about birthdays.
My sis, Justine, got home Friday night from Iowa State & we celebrated her 19th golden birthday last night by going out to eat in South Minneapolis. We ate at Revival, which serves Southern comfort food with a twist & has pretty much the greatest burger in the Twin Cities area, and it was so amazing to be together as a family. As my sisters and I get older, I am beginning to realize these times are getting fewer and far between, especially since Justine is away at school. It makes my heart happy to have this time with people I love. It also gets me excited that the holidays are right around the corner; with Thanksgiving and Christmas, we get a lot of extra time with one another.
Friday night we celebrated a birthday of another special person, my friend Karly. Her and her husband made the trip down from Duluth, and Tony & I, as well as two other couples, tried Burch, a steakhouse and pizza eatery in the North loop of Minneapolis. Low candlelight and beautiful exposed brick walls set the perfect atmosphere for us girls to top off two bottles of prosecco… Quite easily, actually 🙂 It was another amazing night with some of my best friends; these are other moments that are fewer and far between as we get older. I’m learning to put my phone away and bask in the moments, [as cheesy as that sounds], because I’m so fortunate and lucky to have such amazing friendships in my life.
Today was another birthday celebration for Tony’s dad. We ate melted cheese, chili, and chicken tostadas while watching our beloved Vikings, [still bitter the Packers won]. Again, this weekend was a weekend that involved everyone I love + more.
This week’s plans: a gender reveal ultrasound for my best friends, a girls night with my high school favorites, two Thanksgiving dinners, and pulling out my Christmas decorations.
I couldn’t be happier.
