This week’s highlights..
Work
It is now the start of 4th quarter; the home stretch. We are lucky enough to get out of school in May this year. I. Can’t. Wait. The biggest challenge for me as a teacher are these last months of school. I have to prep for the MCA tests, keep students engaged & motivated, and basically, babysit, especially when it gets nice. When the weather starts warming up, you can forget doing anything substantial in the classroom. Students are much more concerned about what activity they have after school, & who can blame them! I’m also thinking about the walks & patio sitting I want to do with Ace!
Being Active
I’ve been running at a minimal of twice a week; which feels fantastic. I have definitely gotten into a groove. I am excited for the weather to warm up a bit, [and now, for the snow to melt!] so that Ace and I may run outside together. He has been closely watching me while I run on the treadmill in our basement – ha! I am also excited about recently becoming a member at Yoga 4 You – a studio near by, which has Yoga, Pilates, Barre, & BUTI, [hip-hop + Yoga, do I need to say more?!]. This studio finally partnered with insurance companies and is offering cash back if you attend a certain number of classes per month. This addition brought the price down, just enough, to justify getting a membership. For the past two years, my doctors have been preaching what a difference Yoga can make – both physically and mentally – especially in preventing cancer growth from returning. I am SO excited for my first class tomorrow morning.
Hobbies
I am pumped – this week I FINALLY started a book club. I have been wanting to do this FOREVER. We decided on the first Tuesday every month; the host picks the book, will provide snacks and drinks, & a handful of discussion questions. I’m a reader, that’s obvious, but the idea started at a bar one night with one of Tony’s best friends. We got talking about The Hunger Games series and had quite a debate on some of the main events in the third book. We both enjoyed actually conversing about a book, & actually getting to in-depth topics – not just the surface stuff. I am hosting the first meeting in May & we are reading The Book Thief, [an all time favorite of mine], & I can’t wait!!
Cuddling
Yes. We have done this well this week.

Happy Friday- off to enjoy some fish with Tony!
